Čertovica Saddle (1232 m above sea level) offers a unique multi-sport experience. From the parking lot, you can choose between downhill slopes, cross-country ski tracks, or a ski touring route. There are 9 slopes (7.1 km) at altitudes ranging from 1120 to 1460 m above sea level, including the northern slopes of Čertova Svadba and the southern slopes of Lajštroch, all easily accessible from the ski-in, ski-out mountain lodges.
40 km of cross-country skiing trails
The cross-country skiing trails at Čertovica, with an average altitude of over 1,000 meters above sea level, are the highest-altitude cross-country skiing trails in Slovakia. Under ideal conditions, more than 40 km of groomed trails are available for both classic and skate skiing, with a minimum width of 5 meters. The trails are maintained every weekend, at regular intervals during the week, and also during holidays and school breaks. Access to the cross-country skiing trails is directly available from the central parking lot.

Low Tatras Ridge Trail
Looking for the perfect day for ski touring? Set out on the popular route through Rovienky and Lajštroch (1,602 m a.s.l.) to the M. R. Štefánik Mountain Hut (1,740 m a.s.l.), and continue all the way to the majestic Ďumbier peak (2,045 m a.s.l.). The trail conveniently starts from the central parking lot (1,232 m a.s.l.). No gear of your own? No problem – Čertovica offers a rental service for complete ski touring equipment, including boots, skis, climbing skins, and avalanche sets. Čertovica is the ideal starting point for ski touring adventures in the Low Tatras, making it a popular location for winter ski touring camps.
Ski in – ski out lodges
The most popular type of accommodation at Čertovica Saddle is ski-in, ski-out mountain lodges. Once you park next to the lodge, you won’t need your car for the rest of your stay, as all sports activities at Čertovica Saddle are within walking distance. The lodges offer great dining, and many are equipped with modern ski storage rooms and wellness services.

Skis, snowboards, cross-country skis, ski touring gear, snowshoes… Čertovica Saddle offers a true multi-sport experience. Thanks to the excellent rental facilities, you can arrive „light“ and still enjoy a different sport every day. In addition to rental equipment, ski and snowboard school instructors are available, as well as a service station offering everything from basic binding adjustments to full maintenance on a professional stone-grinding machine.

200 parking spots
Čertovica Saddle offers four public parking areas with a total capacity of 200 parking spots. Since the parking areas are operated by three separate entities, the operating schedules and pricing vary. During winter holidays and weekends, demand for parking often exceeds available capacity. We recommend considering the Skibus or Cross-country Shuttle as an alternative. Or opt for a stay at one of the ski-in, ski-out lodges, which provide parking for their guests.
Bus Line: Brezno – Čertovica – Chopok South
The Skibus and Cross-country Shuttle run on the route Brezno – Pohanské – Mýto pod Ďumbierom – Čertovica – Bystrá – Tále – Jasná Chopok – South (Krupová) and back. They operate on weekends and during the Christmas holidays (December 21, 2024 – January 7, 2025), as well as daily during the winter school holidays (February 15 – March 9, 2025), from January 11 to March 9, 2025.

Ski courses for schools
Čertovica is an ideal and safe destination for school ski courses. Children have direct access to the slopes from ski-in, ski-out lodges, without needing to cross any roads. The resort offers 7.2 km of slopes suitable for both beginners and advanced skiers, stable snow conditions, and a well-equipped rental shop.
